On the occasion of the World Biodiversity Day 2024 the National Biodiversity Future Center organizes the National Biodiversity Forum in Palermo on 20, 21 and 22 May. The days are dedicated to recount and celebrate the diversity of organisms and ecosystems on our planet.
In the first two days, Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 May, a major scientific conference will be held at the University of Palermo: the national and international scientific community will share the most significant results of the latest research.
During the National Biodiversity Forum will be presented the first NBFC Annual Report on the State of Biodiversity in Italy, an important document with which the NBFC scientific community opens to dialogue with citizens and institutions to guide institutional practices and policies, creating awareness on biodiversity as a possible solution to the environmental and socio-cultural crisis.
The new generation of scientists and scientists will be present in sections dedicated to the presentation of their research with about 300 posters and short talks. The best works will be rewarded.
In the National Biodiversity Future Center scientific research and innovation run parallel. In fact, during the Forum a space will be reserved for the enhancement of biodiversity and Open Innovation to encourage and stimulate dialogue between companies and the scientific community.
Wednesday, May 22 will be a day dedicated to dialogue with institutions, national and international, and will be presented the project of the Gateway of Palermo, a project aimed at connecting the scientific community with the business system, public administrations and biodiversity conservation professionals.
