Background

The Biodiversity Forum is the most significant scientific event focused on national biodiversity, promoted by the National Biodiversity Future Center – NBFC. This event is part of the Biodiversity Week, which this year will be hosted in Milan and will feature a series of events involving not only researchers but also businesses, finance, and local representatives. These activities will be interconnected, and the NBFC community will be represented at each event and discussion.

Focus and Objectives of the Forum

This year, the Forum will focus on the value generated by scientific results related to biodiversity and the innovation processes implemented within NBFC and/or in collaboration with our center. The aim of the Forum is to highlight the impacts generated by NBFC in terms of knowledge, tools, training, and innovation in the field of biodiversity. Based on this data, we aim to identify the most effective tools to generate and measure the value produced and define the best strategies to sustain NBFC in the coming years, enabling the analysis of specific support actions for the country.

Format

Starting from the most valuable results produced by NBFC – such as joint scientific publications, reports, and Key Exploitable Results (KERs) – the Forum will activate discussions, networking activities, and participatory dialogues aimed at promoting measurable impacts on the territory for biodiversity monitoring, conservation, and restoration. The Forum will also serve as an opportunity to present the gateway as a concrete and tangible result for knowledge, technology transfer, and sharing of insights produced by the center’s researchers on biodiversity.
