Mediterranean Forest Week is a biennial event that serves as a platform for cooperation among researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders, fostering dialogue on the challenges faced by Mediterranean forests. The 8th Mediterranean Forest Week (8MFW) delves into solutions and initiatives for the restoration and sustainable management of Mediterranean forest ecosystems.

8MFW sessions:

  • Building resilience: restoration strategies and policies for Mediterranean forest ecosystems
  • Wildfire prevention and post-fire restoration
  • Mediterranean forests biodiversity
  • Climate change mitigation and adaptation in Mediterranean forests
  • Green cities for adaptation and resilience: co-benefits for human health, environment and society
  • Forest-related development cooperation and available financial instruments for the Mediterranean

8MFW takes place in the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site, Barcelona, declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 1997 for its singularity and artistic beauty. The Art Nouveau Site comprises an architectural complex of 12 pavilions set in green space and interconnected by a kilometre of underground galleries.
