The UrbanByNature webinar series, in collaboration with the NbS EduWORLD project, will focus on exploring and raising awareness of nature-based solutions (NbS), the challenges faced by cities and highlighting the potential of NbS education for a transition towards a more sustainable future.
Our upcoming 1st NbS EduWORLD UrbanByNature Webinar will be held on the 4th of July 2024 between 3 pm and 4 pm. This webinar will feature short presentations from ICLEI and one of our NbS EduWORLD cities, followed by an interactive session (see description and agenda below).
Raising awareness on the challenge and providing general concepts about Nature-based Solutions (NbS) to mitigate current and future problems is key to us within the NbS EduWORLD Project, and we are bringing together all of you to start joining forces for a transition in current NbS Education systems that allow applying theory to practice.
Agenda:
- 8 minutes Introduction: NbS EduWORLD Project, Integrated Management System approach for NbS education provided by the UrbanByNature Program, and an overview on the CLEVER Exchange format for learning on NbS. 12 minutes Presentations: NBS EduWORLD cities’ environmental challenges, based on the information collected within the NbS EduWORLD project activities.
- 30 minutes for breakout rooms moderated by ICLEI and the contribution of our NbS EduWORLD cities, welcomed to present their concrete challenges and exchange with the audience.
- 10 minutes for a wrap-up.
Short Summary: The NbS EduWORLD Project is about to start conducting 6 webinars channelled via UrbanByNature that will be opened to the wider public interested in Nature-based Solutions (NbS). Through these webinars, we will be engaging with public audience of all ages interested in knowing more about NbS, NbS educators, practitioners, city planners, members of our global and international networks, and more.
In this context, the webinars will bring fruitful information on NbS to better understand local contexts, needs, gaps, inequalities, experiences, expertise, and streamline the process of integrating NbS in education, to help to translate sustainable principles into concrete planning actions and in dialogue with our NbS EduWORLD partners.
