The Global Change Research Symposium is back! Ten years after the successful meeting held in September 2014, Southern Italy, a new Symposium will be organized in Beijing, China from October 16 to 19, 2024.
This event will feature novel research and advanced applications addressing the topic of “Smart Solutions for Sustainable and Healthy Cities” and will bring together leading international scientists from relevant disciplines to discuss the fundamental role that SMART SOLUTIONS, such as nature-based solutions (NbS), play through the provision of ecosystem services in supporting climate change adaptation and mitigation, the livelihood of citizens, and the achievement of sustainable development goals (SDGs).
Contributions are expected on one or more of the following topics:
- Urban forests and green spaces as nature-based solutions
- Smart technologies and remote sensing applications
- Smart solutions for climate change adaptation and mitigation
- Smart solutions for natural risk management and healthy/resilient cities
- Ecosystem services, human wellbeing and restoring urban ecosystems
- Smart solutions for mitigating soil, water, and air pollution
Other contributions of interest are those providing examples of successful case studies, advanced sensors, and comparative analyses worldwide.
The 2024 Global Change Research Symposium will be co-organized by Beijing Forestry University (BFU) and the University of Bari (UNIBA) with the support of the Research Institute of Forestry Chinese Academy of Forestry (CAF-RIF).
