As part of the research and development project between the Po River District Basin Authority and our Foundation, aimed at enhancing biodiversity in the Po District, the First Forum “Biodiversity, Natural Capital, and Ecosystem Services in the Po District” will be held on March 12 and 13 in Milan, at the Fondazione Riccardo Catella, Via G. de Castillia 28. The event aims to highlight various aspects related to the connection between biodiversity, water resource protection and management, the socio-economic system, ecosystem restoration, and the enhancement of natural capital, involving all relevant stakeholders.
The agenda includes, on the morning of March 12, the presentation of the research project and intervention strategies for the biodiversity of the Po District, particularly the working group documents on “Ecosystem restoration and adaptation to the climate crisis” and “Financial instruments and business initiatives for the enhancement of natural capital.” The afternoon session will feature the presentation of a survey on best practices and initiatives from key stakeholders in the District, as well as successful cases from economic actors in the region.
March 13 will be dedicated to an international discussion on policies and future strategies to address the climate and ecological crisis, as well as public and private economic tools for enhancing Natural Capital.
